Ebay Alert! irena-ebai UK fraudster selling counterfeit Sony

leave a comment »

An ebayer has alerted fightflashfraud about this UK seller that seems to be knowingly selling a counterfeit Sony flash drive. The drive being sold is advertised as 64GB and the picture clearly shows the brand name Sony and the trademark name microvault on the packaging. Sony do not make 64GB microvault drives as you will see from other posts. Given the response the ebayer got to a question about the drive it seems that this seller probably knows it is a fake drive. In the UK someone who knowingly sells an item like this is likely to face a prison sentence. The flash drive in question (ebay item number 180319396065) was sold for £57 – great profit if this fraudster is allowed to get away with it as the drive is probably no more that 4GB. The seller has three more of these listed at the moment. We await developments!
