Ebay fraud – ebayers who warn buyers about fraud attacked!

leave a comment »

Reports from ebayers who were warning buyers about fake flash and those who were warned by other ebayers that the drives they bought were suspect suggest Ebay is launching a round of attacks against the ebayers who are doing what ebay itself has singularly failed to do until now.

Fake capacity and counterfeit drives apparently began to be sold on ebay in 2003 and until recently Ebay was extremely slow at removing fraudsters. They seemed to be much more active in threatening victims who tried to warn others with account suspension than they were in suspending fraudsters. One has to wonder why they are doing this – and whether there is any substance at all in ebay/paypal (same company) claims about buyer protection and safety.
If you are an ebayer who was warned about fake flash and got an ebay message suggesting that the ebayer who warned you was somehow suspect – or you are an ebayer who has been threatened with account suspension or has had your account suspended please comment on this post!
More to come as reports are followed up …
