suspect ebay seller in Latvia

leave a comment »

An ebay seller based in Latvia may be an innocent seller who is a victim of a fraudulent wholesaler (as many ebay sellers world-wide have been) or could be a deliberate fraudster. This seller has 3 extremely suspect items currently listed on ebay. The item numbers in question are:
Item number: 220375809865: 256GB KINGSTON Data Traveler USB flash drive,NEW!
Item number: 220375232868: 128GB KINGSTON DATA TRAVELER USB PEN FLASH DRIVE
Item number: 220375614011: Corsair 128GB USB Memory Flash Voyager Pen Drive, NEW!

These items are undoubtedly fake as solid state (flash) memory of these capacities is not yet technically possible for such small drives. The smallest dimentions for a 128GB solid state flash memory drive (newly released) is 2.5 inches – the same size as has been available for small dimension removable hard drives of the older type for the last two or three years.
