Suspect 16GB flash drive in buy it now listing on ebay France

leave a comment »

chengxinhall Hong Kong based seller chengxinhall has a buy it now listing for a 16GB flash drive on ebay France for 14.90 euros with free postage. the packaging is extremely suspect – we have seen many different fakes presented in this packaging.

We think chengxinhall, who registered with ebay on 24th February 2009 may well be a fraudster and the fact that buyer IDs are hidden tends to support this conclusion. If you bought a flash drive from this seller test it with h2testw immediately and report in to sosfakeflash with test results and transaction details.

Report in to sosfakeflash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

UPDATE 31/05/09
Seller chengxinhall has now sold at lease 30 of these fakes and still has 100% feedback score. Buyers are obviously not doing the sensible thing and testing their drives with h2testw when they arrive. If they did then we are sure they would have discovered that these are false capacity drives that will cause file loss in the long run.
