Suspected counterfeit Kingston DataTraveler 150 in Canada

leave a comment »

importtech09 This 64GB Kingston DataTraveler listed by ebay member importtech09 (registered in Canada) appears to be a counterfeit. Such counterfeits have a tiny capacity and cause file loss. The start price is, we beleive, below the wholesale price of genuine ones – also the picture does not show any engraving. If you bought one of these from any seller then a quick call to Kingston will confirm whether it is genuine or not – genuine ones have individual serial numbers. Testing with h2testw will reveal what the real capacity is; assuming there is any – sometimes fraudsters forget to put a chip in at all or fail to program it.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
