More suspect flash memory from an ebay seller in China

leave a comment »

sogoodtechSeller sogoodtech who registered on ebay China on January 18th 2009 has sold many 16GB flash drives of the model shown on the left which has proved to be fake capacity time and time again. This seller also sells 16GB SD cards which are also likely to be fake capacity. If these were genuine items the seller would have lost well over £1,000 (GBP) from his or her ebay sales to date. Our conclusion? Any flash memory item from this seller is highly likely to be fake capacity. If you use flash memory from this seller we are sure you will eventually find that files begin to be lost or corrupted.

As ever we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
