Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

Another ID on ebay for a familiar fraud gang in China?

with 2 comments

We expect that these flash drives from seller liyanju1111 will prove to be fake capacity causing data loss and file corruption for buyers who use them. We think this is probably a new ID being used by one of the familar fraud gangs. This is a devious seller who is trying to lull people into a false sense of security by saying that the item is in the UK!

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. Thanks for that Randy!

So folks, if you see a seller of flash memory items who is located in one country but the items are supposedly in another country it seems you have a valid reason to report their listings to ebay as containing false and misleading information.

  2. I just checked and liyanju1111 is No longer a registered user

It is against ebay policy to misreprent the item location.

    extract from:

    Item Location Misrepresentation Policy

Sellers must accurately represent the location from which their item will be shipped in the item location field. False, inaccurate or misleading information about the shipping location of an item is not allowed on eBay
