Suspect seller gives excuse for no packaging on flash drives

with 4 comments

royce231098

This seller has listed Kingston and Sandisk flash drives at suspiciously low prices and keeps buyer IDs private – often a sign of fraud. In the listings royce231098 says:

This item is new but minus original packaging due to soiled/damaged packaging the item is new never used and for peace of mind check out my Feedback + free postage & Packaging first class recorded

No packaging means no serial number so you can’t verify whether or not your drive is genuine with the manufacturer. We wouldn’t risk buying these without packaging at any price. As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. I cannot believe how unlucky this seller has been with packaging soiling and damage. He really should speak to his postman!

If the postal service is this bad in his part of the country, would you want to risk buying from this seller?

The poor soul’s Sandisk Cruzers and SanDisk Contours have suffered the same fate too. Shocking, I say, shocking!

  3. Seems like this seller had to relist the “no original packaging” DT100’s again for another 30 days. How likely is it that the 6 available all had damaged packaging that is no longer available? How convenient for the seller that buyers will be unable to checkup on the drives.

Are buyers staying away from his sales because they are doubting the sellers integrity?

  4. An ebay member contacted this seller and offered to buy a 32gb DT150 on Buy It Now immediately as long as they could be guaranteed one in original packaging with a serial number.

The seller refused to guarantee this with a lame excuse of having to do it for everyone if he did it with one.

His poor excuses of damaged or soiled packaging is a cop out.

Let’s face it, have you ever tried to tear open one of these blister packs? Without the right tools these things are almost indestructible!

As for soiling. What kind of soiling would not come off with a good cloth and detergent?

Private sales, no original packaging, refusal to supply complete. You don’t need to be a detective to work this one out!
