This 16GB flash drive is fake capacity – the fraudsters’ favourite

ginger_mamaAny flash drive you see in this packaging is fake capacity and will cause data loss. Both the packaging and the flash drive itself are very familiar to members of the frankenflash project, we are the not-so-proud owners of such fakes ourselves.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

Are this Hong Kong seller’s flash drives genuine?

At the time of writing seller mcpower168 has no feedback for flash drives having only recently started selling these. Previously the seller only offered other items all of which were sold at a loss – current feedback is only for these loss-making items. This suggests to us that this could be another carefully built ID set up for fraud.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.
