Despite being advised that this flash drive is fake capacity by at least two ebay members seller anujpaudel insists it is 16GB. We beg to differ – in over 18 months members have never yet found one of these to have a true capacity of 16GB.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. Hi Traveler,

We are inclined to think there is no co-incidence at all. However, one must bear in mind that this ebay member may not be particularly computer literate.

Many computer users do not understand that looking at the properties of a drive does not in any way constitute a test.

They do not understand that what is shown is simply what a drive’s control chip has been programmed to show and that this is not necessarily the truth.

As always we advise both sellers and buyers to test all flash memory with h2testw! This is a free program provided by a German computer magazine. There is information about the program and a link to the download site on this blog at:

  2. If anyone looks at the listing for this drive, they will see further down the page that the seller has possibly used a picture from a listing by a confirmed fake capacity seller, cititrading.

    This could simply be coincidence.
