These 8GB Sony memory sticks may be counterfeit

leave a comment »

wal-mart88Information has come to our attention that suggests the 8GB Sony memory sticks sold by wal-mart88 (a new seller in China) may well be counterfeit and fake capacity.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

budgetflash

The slightly low price of 8GB flash drives listed by budgetflash makes us wonder if these are genuine or not. As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Devious Chinese fraudster pretends items are in Ireland

continue.acun

Here we have a devious fraudster selling a very familiar fake capacity flash drive and pretending that the item comes from Ireland. Anyone using a flash drive sold by continue.acun will suffer data loss after a while. As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device. The seller is no longer a registered user so if you bought a fake flash drive from this seller claim a refund from paypal immediately.

Auction for 64GB Kingston DT150 looks suspect to us

sleeds1992

We strongly suspect that the 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 150 flash drives being auctioned by sleeds1992 will prove to be counterfeit and fake capacity. If they are genuine buyers will be able to verify the serial numbers with Kingston.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Yet another new fraudster ID in China by the look of it

nanaxixi09

We think nanaxixi09 will turn out to be yet another ID set up to defraud people with fake capacity flash memory. The use of private sales by nanaxixi09 makes this new seller particularly suspicious – a devious tactic to hide buyer IDs so that victims can not easily be warned. As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

ebay seller in China with 32GB SD cards in private listings

superseller5018

At the time we spotted this item from superseller5018 this seller had a 100% positive feedback score of 64. Only two feedback comments related to private listings. The use of private listings and low buy it now price makes us strongly suspect that this is yet another fraud ID set up by one of the familiar oriental fraud gangs.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.
