Seller in China lists suspect flash drives on ebay

with 3 comments

We are convinced that all USB flash drives sold by kensington153 will prove to be fake capacity. The DataTraveler drives will also be counterfeit – buyers can check serial numbers with Kingston. As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. I can confirm that I bought what appeared to be a 32GB DataTraveler from this seller and received a forgery that became obvious once I read this site. I have received a refund, and alerted PayPal. I have also attempted to contact Kingston, but have yet to get a reply.

  2. Hi Traveler – it is amazing how quickly things are delivered within China. Seems all the sellers there muar have a Star Trek “beam me up” for super-fast delivery! Wonder why the “beam me up” only works in China?

  3. This seller bought a Hello Kitty 32gb usb flash drive from toomanyles572 on an auction ending 22 Aug, 2009 15:02 for £11.02. Positive feedback was left for seller at 23-Aug-09 00:56.

The postal service in China must be so quick.

Now this seller has two seperate listings for the same Hello Kitty flash drive, claiming to have more than 10 available in each listing.

Was this seller buying the one drive as a sample or is there something else going on here?
