gremlin2sIt seems that the ID alice_daphne_a is not as disposable to our fraudster friends as some of the more recent gremlin IDs. Fraudsters who were suspended have been rushing to set new IDs recently as the water gets hotter for fraudulent sellers.

Gremlin IDS are set up to defraud ebay members out of money by selling fake capacity memory items that cause data loss and corruption.

Ebayer who buy these fake capacity item suddenly find they can’t open files on their flash drive, memory card or MP player – often too late to claim a refund even if they do find out the truth. Most probably just think the item has developed a fault.

This is not the case – the items have been fraudulently programmed to fake capactities. Once the true capacity (usually 2GB or less) has been exceeded there is nowere for the files to go except into the fake flash void! Most of the new IDs set up in China begin selling fakes immediately but with this one (registered in November 2008) feedback was carefully built up with cheap loss-making items before beginning on fraudulent sales.

The fraud gang we think this ID was registered by obviously hope to hang onto this ID a bit longer than most of the ones set up recently. As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
