ramsa-ltdThe Kingston DataTraveler flash drives from new UK ebay member ramsa-ltd seem a tad on the cheap side.

This makes us wonder if they came from one of the many fraudulent wholesalers in the orient. These fraudulent suppliers sell counterfeit and fake capacity items.

The seller may have no idea that there could be a problem with the drives – we have come across many sellers in the UK who purchased fake flash memory items from these suppliers.

The 32GB and 64GB models should have individual serial numbers which (if they are genuine) can be verified by Kingston. We are not sure if the 16GB model has checkable serial numbers – if not a quick test with h2tesw would reveal whether they are genuinely 16GB or not.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. Kingston were happy enough that every single drive advertised by this seller were counterfeits.

Kingston forced ebay to remove them all.

    There were listings for 8gb DT100’s, 16gb DT100’s, 32gb DT150’s and 64gb DT150’s.

If you have bought a drive from this seller, please test and send in your results to the email address given at Your input is welcomed and valued by the team here at fightflashfraud. The more evidence gathered on these sellers, the better. This is your chance to help fight against the injustice we all suffer as a result of this ongoing fraud.
