Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

Seems we have another new baby gremlin from China here!

We have christened the new fraud ID’s registered in China who are popping up very quickly and listing only one item “baby gremlins”. The aim seems to be to sell as many fake flash drives as possible using a single listing before being caught and suspended from ebay.

This particular baby gremlin is hoping to get away with it for longer than otherwise by using private listings. Private listings protect the seller not the buyer by making it almost impossible for ebay members to warn buyers before they leave positive feedback.

If you buy a flash drive from a seller in China and your files vanish or become corrupted then you can be sure the seller is a gremlin! As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. This seller yuanshuai0022 has received a negative feedback for one of these drives.

In follow up to feedback left, it appears there has been some dispute as to the drive not being 16gb.

    No surprise there.

The seller is no longer listing any drives for sale. As soon as a negative appears, the seller seems to disappear.
