Do my eyes deceive me?

Seller web*girl the (scam) artist formerly known as rilainey has a very interesting listing here. If my eyes do not deceive me the picture shows a flash drive bearing the Sony name but the listing says Sandisk. Is the seller suggesting that Sandisk kindly manufactures Sony’s flash drives for them or what??

The seller states it is a new design – you can say that again web*girl! We’ve never yet come across a Sandisk model bearing the Sony name! Perhaps web*girl aka rilainey is suffering from dementia and has forgotten that Sandisk and Sony are rival companies. Fortunately our team have all their faculties and can spot dodgy goings on such as changes of ID and listings that don’t make sense.

When we first posted about this seller back at the beginning of August the seller was advertising 32GB Sandisk flash drives and the picture was of a Sandisk drive. At that time rilainey was apparently located in Bridgenorth – with the change of ID has come a change of location – now given as Wolverhampton.

Events since our first post (at which time we thought it possible, if unlikely, that the seller was a victim of a fraudulent supplier) lead us to the inevitable conclusion that this is a duplicitous seller deliberately flogging fake memory items on ebay. Dodgy dealers – we are watching you!

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
