gremlin2sWe think lingwawa98982009 is a carefully built gremlin ID set up to defraud ebayers with fake capacity memory. A good feedback score was built up for this ID by selling headphones at a loss in auctions with a start price of 1p and free p@p.

Who sells headphones for 1p with free P&P in listing after listing? Fraudsters in China, that’s who! The seller is no longer listing headphones – the buffer against negative feedback is in place.

Now the seller only has the buy it now listing shown above for a 16GB flash drive – except it won’t be a 16GB flash drive – more likely 2GB programmed to appear to be 16GB to the operating system. The worst part for victims of flash memory fraud is not the money lost – it is losing things saved to these fake items that the user does not have copies of elsewhere.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
