Dodgy looking auctions for Kingston flash drives on ebay Australia

with 2 comments

westryde

We are rather surprised to see Australian ebay member westryde listing a range of Kingston USB flash drives all with a $0.01 start price and free P&P!! Models advertised are the 64GB DT 400 model shown above, 16GB DT G2, 16GB DT 400, 16GB, 32GB and 128GB DT 200. Is this seller off his or her trolly or are these all fakes?

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

  1. Up until a couple of days ago, this seller had a fair range of guaranteed fakes. These included the following drives which only exist in fakeland:

    64gb SanDisk Cruzer Micro
    128gb SanDisk Cruzer Micro
    16gb DT200
    64gb DT400
240gb Sony Vaio usb flash drive

I wonder if all these drives were in the bargain section of the fake flash supermarket westryde decided to shop in?

  2. The DT400 was available up to 32 GB size… not the larger sizes that this seller offers. The DT400 has been replaced by the DT410

    What does that tell you?
