Buyers of fake flash drives on ebay did not notice they were fake

leave a comment »

On July 1st we posted a warning about flash drives sold by libellenfang being fake but so far not a single buyer seems to have tested their flash drives, so all have been fooled by what the operating system shows. The flash drives previously sold were in the same packaging as the one shown above but were the swivel type.

This one is the fraudsters’ favourite – sold in all sorts of fantastic fake capacities. Eventually buyers will find themselves with files mysteriously vanishing or becoming corrupt. The seller may well be unaware that the flash drives being sold are fake.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have purchased a false capacity device on ebay.
