We think this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler may be counterfeit

with 2 comments

We think this 128GB DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive listed for sale by greenhound53, a seller registered in Germany, is likely to be counterfeit. If it is genuine then Kingston will be able to verify the serial number.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

Feedback demonstrates that we were right – seller is now listing fake Kingston flash drives as faulty.

  1. If you submit all the information requested on the report a fake link then sosfakeflash will issue an Internet alert about the seller. This will take a little time, as they are snowed under with reports to investigate, so in the meantime you could leave another comment here giving the seller’s ID.

  2. The one I just purchased from another seller is counterfeit – there is no number embossed on the metal plug where it should be.
