Suspect 128GB Kingston DT200 flash drives sold on ebay

with one comment

Seller 5182chang is not currently listing anything for sale but it seems that this ebay member may have sold at least 20 counterfeit (and therefore fake capacity) 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives on ebay USA. Serial numbers for genuine flash drives of this type can easily be verified with Kingston – however a comment from a buyer suggests that the flash drives from this seller were fakes.

  1. This negative feedback comment left for the seller on one of the 128gb DT200 drives confirms suspicions:

“counterfeit and non functional, complete rip off screwed out of return shipping”

Unfortunately the seller is listing drives at present consisting of three seperate single drives and one batch of 10 drives, all 128gb DT200’s.

To view the drives for sale from this seller, it is necessary to first log in to the ebay USA site. Any ebay site from any country can be logged into using your original, everyday ebay member log-in details.

I would also like to emphasise to buyers that they cannot be expected to break the law by using postal service to return counterfeits. Refuse to do so.
