UK ebay seller lists fake 32GB Kingston USB flash drive

leave a comment »

The 32GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive in the ebay listing shown above by UK seller oceanspas is fake fake fakity fake. This seller should have stuck with selling things related to swim spas and hot tubs as selling flash drives is likely to land the seller in all sorts of hot water!!

This model of flash drive was never made in capacities above 16GB. The seller may have bought these (and other flash memory items listed for sale) from one of the many fraudulent wholesalers in the far east. The seller may have no idea they are fake.

We suggest that oceanspas tests a sample of each of the flash memory items offered for sale with the free program h2testw. As this is undoubtedly fake anything else from the same supplier will almost certainly be fake too. Fakes cause users’ files to either vanish altogether or become corrupt after a while.

If the seller is honest he or she will cancel listings for flash memory items immediately; pending test results, contact any buyers of this flash drive and any other flash memory items that fail testing and refund them all in full.

We advise everyone to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
