UK seller lists fake 512GB USB flash drive on ebay

with one comment

snoopyweeps Snoopy started to weep in utter despair when he saw a listing by UK ebay member mskoneshop for a 512GB Kingston USB flash drive. Kingston do not make a flash drive of this capacity. Neither does anyone else.

It would not actually be technically possible to fit enough memory chips into the swivel type flash drive pictured here to create a 512GB flash drive. A flash drive of this capacity (if someone does eventually put one on the market) would be a lot larger than this and would cost over £500.

This flash drive is fake fake fakity fake. Anyone using one will end up with lost and corrupted files. We don’t know whether the seller has any idea these are fake or not. We notice that the seller previously sold 2GB USB flash drives. If the 2GB flash drives came from the same supplier they were probably fakes too.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

If you bought a fake flash drive on ebay please cheer poor old snoopy up by warning other people who bought the same item and getting them to report in to sosfakeflash as well.
