beware of yf-tech – an ebay fraudster selling fake MP players

with 2 comments

Sneaky fraudster yt-technology changed ebay ID to yf-tech in the hope of continuing to defraud people with fake MP player sales. Do not let this fraudster get away with it!!

If you bought an MP player from this seller either under the ebay ID yt-technology or under the ID yf-tech:

  • Test it immediately with the free program h2testw.
  • Report in with test results and other required information to sosfakeflash.
  • Claim a refund from this fraudster if you are within the time limit to do so.
  • Leave seller a neg stating it is fake (or follow-up comment if you already left pos)
  • Warn other buyers and get them to test and report in.

This seller is a known fraudster who previously used the ebay ID yt-technology and before that (until August 2008) the ID milycai. Only action by ebay members will stop this fraudster from continuing to defraud people on ebay.

  1. I, too, was scammed by yf-tech. I’ve learned a valuable lesson from it….research my ebay sellers and their products before buying ANYTHING anymore!

I bought three chipods from them, advertised as MP4 players, and they don’t even play MP4s!!!! They play .AMV files and, of course, MP3s. First, my sister’s player went completely dead…won’t power on or anything, no matter what we try. Then, I discovered that my player and my wife’s player were hacked memory-wise. They’re advertised as 8GB players, when they are REALLY 2GB!!!!!!!!

We are in the process of trying to get a refund. yf-tech wants me to send the products back to them, but I refuse to do so. First of all, it would be at my own expense to send it back, and they would not refund my shipping charges, more than likely. Secondly, I am only asking a full refund for the player that broke down.

I have emailed them multiple times on eBay, and I feel as if I’m beating my head against a brick wall. I plan to leave a negative comment as follow-up to my hastily-left positive feedback, and I’m considering writing a review of the players on eBay, as well.

I agree with Martin Forde…f*** the crooks at yf-tech!

  2. I got scammed by yf-tech. It took multiple emails and infuriating calls to the PayPal resolution center to get refunded. At first they told me that a 2gb knock off china pod advertised as 8gb was not counterfeit.

In disbelief I spoke with several supervisors who claimed that yf-tech didn’t commit fraud either and that I would be guilty of theft if I was refunded and didn’t send the fraudulent device back to a non-existent address in China through the USPS which would constitute a felony.

After that my case was put into “Being reviewed by case specialist” and it stayed there for several weeks until paypal sent me an automated message saying that I need to provide prove that the device was a counterfeit. That was very odd considering I was claiming the item was fraudulent and not as described.

Why I should have to show that the device was counterfeit when I was claiming something entirely different is beyond me. After he debacle, paypal put the claim into “being reviewed by case specialist again” and then was closed in favor of yf-tech because I failed to provide proof of counterfeit. I know laughable isn’t it? So I called in today and after being transferred to three different individuals in three separate departments I was told that I would be given a courtesy refund.

Words of advice, paypal will avoid refunding you at all costs. There automated system is frustrating to working with and there resolution center representatives are generally uneducated and arrogant. If your not getting anywhere with a rep, demand a supervisor. If you get no where with the supervisor ask to be transferred to legal. Repeat 3 to 4 times and some months later and you should get your refund. Have fun and fuck the crooks yt-technology or yf-tech.
