Suspect auctions for 32GB USB flash drives on ebay UK

leave a comment »

We doubt that the swivel type 32GB USB flash drives auctioned by mattbibby will prove to have a true capacity of 32GB – we think the real capacity is likely to be 4GB or less. You can’t tell by looking at drive properties as fakes fool the operating system. Once the true capacity of a fake is exceeded the user’s files start to be lost and corrupted.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
