Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

We think this Kingston DataTraveler is a counterfeit

Seller maliks121 (registered on ebay USA) bought this flash drive from claudetteowens – a seller who we reported on as listing a non-existent model of Kingston at the beginning of October. As claudetteowens had at least two models of fake flash drive one can only assume that all flash drives sold will have come from the same fraudulent supplier.

Rather than selling this suspect flash drive to someone else maliks121 should test the drive with h2testw and demand a refund from claudetteowens if (as we expect) it fails testing.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
