The buyer of ebay item 250534970970 may have a nasty shock!

We have suspected for some time that UK selller rdalot has been sellling fake capacity flash drives. Item 250534970970 sold on November 24th is probably a fake that will corrupt the buyer’s files. The picture shows a little shiny sticker that we have seen on many fakes but never on a genuine flash drive.

Feedback indicates that at least some rdalot buyers received a different (but probably equally fake) flash drive from this selller. We were not sure whether rdalot was a deliberate fraudster at first, but recent developments suggest this may well be the case. At any rate, we wouldn’t take the risk of buying flash memory from rdalot given the attitude the seller seems to have to buyer complaints!!

Given this seller’s responses to buyers we wouldn’t be at all surprised to receive threats of legal action against us from rdalot. However, we don’t think rdalot has a leg to stand on.

This seller would be better advised to refund everyone who bought flash drives. This would be far cheaper for rdalot than attempting to sue us (lawyers are very expensive) and better for everyone else, especially dissatisfied customers!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
