Five 128GB Kingston USB flash drives on ebay for this price??

The start price for this job lot of 5 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed on ebay by qinjing34 (registered in France) is less than one would expect to pay for a single genuine one. This leads us to the conclusion that these simply have to be counterfeit and fake capacity. This seller has also listed what we think is a fake 64GB Kingston. The flash drives are in private auctions but other items are not.

The fact that this seller is using a private auctions leads us to think that the seller may know they are counterfeit. If this is the case then it is nothing less than deliberate fraud. Genuine Kingston flash drives of these capacities all have individual serial numbers which can be used to verify the drives with Kingston. We don’t think Kingston will verify any from this seller. Fake flash trashes data after a while.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
