Another ebay ID for a Singapore based flash fraud gang

The ebay ID sg-hot128 is a recent addition to a devious fraud gang based in Singapore.

This gang often builds up false feedback for a new ID as a buyer before any fake memory items (such as the fake capacity USB flash drive shown above) is listed on ebay under that ID. Then they add feedback for the ID as a seller through fake purchases.

sg-hot128The early feedback for sg-hot128, both as buyer and seller, is as fake as the “64GB” USB flash drive item number 170394220464 (pictured left). This is the fraudsters’ favourite; easily programmed to any fake capacity the fraudsters think they can get away with. These show up in properties as 64GB but they are nothing like!

These drives trash users’ data after a while. You cannot buy genuine 64GB flash drive for the price shown in this buy it now listing – it costs twice this much to make a real one! The highest capacity genuine flash drive you can buy for ¬£26 is 16GB.

This seller stopped listing for a while and it looks like all the flash drives “sold” in listing 170394220464 bar one were “bought” by other gang members to give this¬†fraudster positive feedback – of course no money or flash drives will have changed hands in the other 20 sales of this item!!

Seller sg-hot128 then began to list counterfeit Kingston flash drives. If you bought a flash drive from this seller we advise you to test it with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
