The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

If this Hong Kong ebay seller’s 128GB DT200 drives are genuine why use a private listing??

Unlike most sellers on ebay sky-digi (registered in Hong Kong) is selling Kingston 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives at a price closer to what we would expect for a genuine item than most sellers on ebay. So why the private listing?? Usually private listings are used where fraud is involved if the items being sold are USB flash drives or other flash memory items.

We advise buyers to check serial numbers with Kingston – if Kingston verifies your drive please let us know!! If not, test the first 16GB with h2testw – fakes are unlikely to have a capacity higher than this. Usually they fail the test and show a much lower real capacity.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
