Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

UK ebay seller failed to research before buying fake Kingston

with 2 comments

Had locket-locket done some simple research (ie looked at the Kingston website) before buying USB flash drives to re-sell on ebay then he or she would have realised that there is only one model of 128GB USB flash drive made by Kingston and this isn’t it!! These are counterfeit and fake capacity items that will trash users’ files. This ebayer no doubt bought from one of the many fraudulent wholesalers on the Internet.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. Hi Micro,

Your info suggests there may be deliberate fraud here… ?? Time will tell.

  2. There is an interesting link developing here between this seller and another coolshaun, both have traded in Kingston 128 Travelers. coolshaun having so far only sold one.
One to watch I guess. All buyers from locket_locket have been advised to test their purchases with h2testw
Additional information: Both sellers are in York U.K
is this another fraudulent manifestation from Yorkshire?
