We doubt that this leather flash drive on ebay UK will be genuine

leave a comment »

We suspect that this 4GB leather type flash drive listed on ebay UK by kicaj888 could well turn out to be a fake that corrupts data. The seller may not know it is likely to be fake, but this model is commonly sold by fraudulent wholesalers.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Seller kaeuferhh25 has listed the 64GB version of a notorious fake leather and steel type USB flash drive. Every one of these tested by the fightflashfraud team turned out to be a fake that trashed files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

A buyer complained in feedback that this flash drive sold on ebay by powerprogress was fake. We are inclined to agree with the buyer and think the Kingston drives listed by this seller will also be fakes that trash files.

We have only ever seen the little shiny capacity stickers shown on the flash drive in this listing by esvpk on fakes that corrupt users’ files. We think this seller bought from one of the many fraudulent wholesalers.
