UK ebay member with fake flash drives and suspect SD cards

This flash drive listed by UK ebay member midastouch7 is a well known fake flash drive sold in many different fake capacities.

The ones listed by this seller have been programmmed to show as 128GB but we doubt if the real capacity (when tested with h2testw) will prove to be more than 2GB – the very most they are likely to be is 4GB.

In testing by the frankeflash project we have not come across any of these leather and steel type USB flash drives with higher capacities than this.

This seller obviously bought from one one of the many fraudulent wholesale outlets supplying fakes. We expect the 32GB SD cards from midastouch7 will also be fake capacity.

Often seller on ebay do not realise they are selling fakes but the use of private listings in this case make us wonder if midastouch7 knows and is being deliberately fraudulent.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
