Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

These 128GB DataTravelers on ebay can not be genuine

with one comment

The 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed for sale by keapon-laffin simply cannot be genuine at this price. This ebayer in Australia obviously bought them from a fraudulent supplier. They will be counterfeit and fake capacity. Such drives corrupt users’ files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

ADDENDUM 01/01/10

OOPS! – we notice there is an error in this post – keapon-laffin is actually selling these as 16GB. Kington do not make these in 16GB capacity!! This just means that the fact they are fake is even more glaringly obvious!!

  1. I purchased from this guy – a real sly! If you live near-by (like I do) he will offer to deliver them and he immediately ends the listing because it’s outside eBay = No trace or proof that sny transaction was done. I purchased 10 in totl from this guy @$25each. 4 were only genuine and the 6 counterfeits were the ones pictured above on this weeb-page. I rang himt he next day and told him, he played dumb I believe and the conversation was leading nowhere. I then asked for my money back and his reply was ‘on the eBay transaction, it stated no returns’. He then hangs up.
At very moment, I knew I got done. I then did some calls to leagal aid and got connected with a firm in Newfarm who said that could help me but I need to know the persons full name. B.T.W – When you speak to thi sguy over the phone, he answers by: Helo this is Chris Lata or Larda’….Is that dodgey or what?

If you have purchased from this eBay member and would like to get you money back, please contact me on 0401-934-838 or
