This USB flash drive is not high quality and not 64GB!

leave a comment »

The leather and steel type flash drives listed on ebay Australia by infxus are neither high quality nor do they have a true capacity of 64GB. This ebayer undoubtedly bought these famous fakes from a fraudulent wholesale outlet, probably in China.

These flash drives use small capacity (usually no more than 2GB) inferior quality flash chips that are very prone to failure – even when sold as the genuine capacity. When they are sold at high capacities such as 64gb these flash drives have been programmed to fool the operating system – so when you look at the drive properties you see what you would expect – in this case 64GB. This is not the truth. These will corrupt files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

US ebay seller with suspect flash drives in private auctions

leave a comment »

We think the USB flash drives listed by usb09 are likely to be fake capacity – one model offered by this seller always proves to be a fake that corrupts files and generally if a seller has one fake then all are fake. The use of private auctions suggest that the seller is aware they are fake, as does the fact that the seller was apparently suspended by ebay for a while.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Holy Moley! More fake Kingston flash drives on ebay Australia!

Seller holymoley2010 registered on ebay Australia has listed what simply have to be counterfeit and fake capacity 64GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drives in private sales. We suspect this may mean that the seller is aware that these are not genuine items and will corrupt users’ data.

We advise everyone to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Singjapan gang ID sold fraudsters’ favourite flash drive on ebay

Seller magic.show belongs to a fraud ring the fightflashfraud team has been watching for some time. This 128GB USB flash drive from this seller is a notorious fake. Anyone who bought one will eventually end up with lost and corrupted files.

Members of this fraud ring often falsely claim that the fake flash drives they sell are made in Japan. They leave each other false positive feedback as buyers and sellers to give themselves good feedback scores. They ship items out of Singapore – we strongly advise people not to buy flash memory items (or mobile phone batteries) shipped out of Singapore.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Chose your 32GB fake flash drive from this ebay seller in the USA!

Shown above is a current listing from seller hub2606. This US ebay seller offers buyers a choice of 4 different 32GB flash drives – all of which we are certain will be fakes!! The price of 32 United States Dollars is too low for them to be genuine even with the seller’s slightly inflated post and packing charges.

Examination of the seller’s feedback indicates that buyers have already had problems with flash drives from this seller. This comes as no surprise to us!!

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.
