Hong Kong ebay gremlin offers a range of fake USB flash drives

with 8 comments

gremlin2s A range of fake USB flash drives are offered by mengxiangweilai2008 a gremlin id that no doubt belongs to one of the familiar fraud rings operating in that part of the world.

We wouldn’t touch flash memory from this seller with a barge pole! We are certain that all of it will corrupt users’ files after a while.

As well as the familiar leather and steel model in this listing the seller offers the Kingston DataTraveler 150, Kingston DT 200, a familiar stainless steel swivel model and others – plently of choice in how to corrupt your data!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. Hi Janis,
As we don’t have any details about what you bought and when and you have not said whether your item arrived or not, let alone whether you tested it, it is a bit difficult to advise you.

We assume you bought from seller mengxiangweilai2008, who is now de-registered – presumably suspended by ebay. If it is within a month or so of your purchase and you either did not receive the item or it was fake and paypal are not co-operating then it may be worth getting in touch with ebay customer services. Sometimes they can sort things out.
