Looks like another fake 32GB USB flash drive on ebay to us

with 5 comments

Seems that another ebay member from Korea has been shopping in fake flash land. The buy it now price for this 32GB USB flash drive is impossibly low – the flash memory chips alone would cost more than this. There is therefore no doubt that this USB flash drive is a fake that will corrupt files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

ebay gremlin builds huge feedback before selling fake flash drives

leave a comment »

gremlin2sGremlin seller kmtrend (no doubt part of a familiar fraud ring) cunningly built up a huge feedback score by auctioning cheap screen protectors.

As the seller offered free P&P and many went for as little as 20p the seller obviously made quite a loss on the large number (almost 600) sold.

If you see feedback for a seller for a huge number of cheap items like this – smell a rat! We have no doubt that any USB flash drive or other flash memory sold by kmtrend will prove to be fake capacity and will corrupt users’ files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

The 64GB DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives sold by ebay gremlin qq1258800 are far too cheap to be genuine – the seller is charging less here than it costs to make a real one!! If you buy one it will corrupt your files once the true capacity is exceeded.

We doubt that the 64GB Kingston flash drives listed at auction on ebay by UK seller nrostaie02 are genuine. If we are wrong then Kingston will be able to verify the serial numbers. If we are right these flash drives will corrupt files.
