ebay seller in Ireland lists notorious fake USB flash drives for sale

leave a comment »

Seller 2009joesstore (registered in Ireland) obviously shopped with one of the many fraudulent wholesale outlets supplying fake flash memory items at prices lower than the manufacturing costs of genuine USB flash drives. This particular model is a notorious fake, gaurenteed to corrupt files; though the seller may have no idea that this is the case.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

UPDATE 06/02/2010
Seller 2009joesstore has marked listings for this item out of stock which suggests that this ebayer may have discovered these are fake. It looks as though only one was sold – we hope the seller refunds and explains the situation to the buyer. If (as appears may be the case) this seller is an innocent victim of a fraudulent supplier we hope he or she manages to get a full refund from these crooks.
