The USB flash drives shown above seem to have been purchased on ebay by mrmart. This ebay member then sold the items shown on the left to other members and currently has auctions for the two on the right. All of these USB flash drives are fakes that corrupt files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Fake capacity 32GB USB flash drive listed by UK ebayer

UK ebay seller may not be aware of it but the 32GB USB flash drive pictured in this listing is a fake that corrupts files. This seller obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier. Fake flash drives like this have a real capacity much lower than is shown in drive properties. Most are 2GB or less but fraudulent programming allows the device to display a false capacity to the operating system.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

This 256GB DT200 on ebay is a fake – there is no such flash drive

The USB flash drive in this ebay listing from drakomodo is a fake that corrupts files. The Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive is not produced in 265GB capacity. This is a counterfeit produced by fraudsters. It will have a tiny real capacity but will display as 265GB (or close to this) when you look at drive properties. This is due to fraudulent programming of such devices. The seller may not be aware it is fake.

We find this private ebay listing for 32GB USB flash drives by tv-toyz highly suspect – we don’t see how anyone could possibly sell genuine 32GB USB flash drives on ebay at this price. We are fairly certain that these are fake capacity USB flash drives from a fraudulent supplier that will corrupt files.
