UK ebayer lists fake Sony 240GB USB flash drivs for sale

with one comment

UK ebay member dazaclaza obviously did not research the subject of flash memory before buying these fake 240GB Sony USB flash drives to sell on ebay. There is no such thing as a 240GB USB flash drive – only hard drives are made in this capacity. This USB flash drive was not made by Sony (the maximum capacity of flash drives sold by Sony is 32GB) and it corrupts files because it is fake capacity.

We think this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler on ebay is a fake

We think this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 150 listed at auction by UK seller harveyatthebeeches is very likely to be counterfeit, fake capacity. If we are right then it corrupts files, if we are wrong Kingston will be able to verify the serial number.

If these are genuine Kingston, seller in Canada risks making a loss

If the 64GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drives listed on ebay Canada by stevepic78 are genuine then the seller risks making a loss by selling them at auction. We suspect they may well be counterfeits bought from a fraudulent supplier. We wonder if it occurred to this seller to check the serial numbers with Kingston to ensure they are genuine. If they are counterfeits then they will be fake capacity. A counterfeit and fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files.

Looks like this ebayer in Canada is dropshipping from Hong Kong

leave a comment »

As ebay member dealscool2009 is registered in Canada but the item location in this listing is given as Hong Kong it seems that this seller has become involved in dropshipping. In dropshipping operations the seller never actually sees the items they sell. This is very dangerous where USB flash drives are concerned as the seller cannot check that they are genuine. In this case they are too cheap to be genuine 16GB USB flash drives. They will be fake capacity items which corrupt files.
