Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

Is this top-rated ebay seller in China actually a fraudster?

We could find no trace of this supposed 8GB Kingston USB flash drive listed on ebay by mengmeng885588 (a seller in China) on the Kingston web site. This leads us to think it is probably a counterfeit and fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files. If this is the case the operating system will report the expected capacity but this will not be the truth!

Do not fall into the trap of thinking that a seller who is given top rating by ebay is honest. These ratings seem to be more to do with the money ebay makes than whether or not the seller is genuine.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
