If UK ebayer’s flash drives are genuine this seller risks a loss

leave a comment »

If the flash drives listed on ebay are genuine then seller 1985jack000 risks making a loss on them by listing at auction with low start prices. This makes us wonder if this seller bought from a fraudulent supplier. If they are not genuine then this flash drive is fake capacity and corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

Top rated US ebayer sells very dodgy USB flash drive

In our experience this model of flash drive always turns out to be fake capacity – members of the fightflashfraud team have tested a number of these sold as different capacites and not a single one had a real capacity over 2GB. We are certain that this will prove to be the case with the leather and steel type flash drives sold by siitech.

This seller has a range of different models of flash drive on offer – we think they came from a fraudulent wholesale outlet in China and that all are likely to be fake capacity. A fake capacity flash drive corrupts files after a while. This seller may have absolutely no idea that the supplier was likely to be fraudulent and that the flash drives will be fakes.

Unfortunately so many people fall into the trap of buying from fraudulent suppliers that we can’t possibly warn them all. It takes a lot of persuasion to get people to beleive there is such a thing as fake capacity flash memory that it takes a lot of effort to get people to test their items.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Serial numbers for these can be checked with Kingston – we will be very surprised if they say this is genuine.
