Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

Yet another UK seller sells 128GB Kingston flash drive at impossible price!

The 128GB USB flash drives already sold by UK ebay seller philw5063 (ebay item numbers 220579722116 and 220579589594) will be fake capacity which (inevitably) corrupts files. The listing we captured here vanished whist we were saving the image so we don’t have the listing number. We suspect that ebay removed the listing because they knew it would be a counterfeit and fake capacity item.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
