Having previously sold a number of 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives as defective ebay member castroper_adil (ebayer in Germany) has now listed the one above without mentioning there could be a problem.

This seller bought counterfeit Kingston from fraudulent supplier – they are not defective (as suggested in the listing below) they are counterfeit, fake capacity flash drives deliberately programmed by fraudsters in China to display false information to the operating system. All the 128GB Kingston flash drives sold by castroper_adil will corrupt files after a while as they are fakes.

Sellers on ebay may not realise this, but selling counterfeit items like these is a criminal offence that could land them in prison!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
