guenstig-007 sells obvious fake 32GB USB flash drive on ebay

with one comment

This 32GB USB flash drive sold on ebay by guenstig-007 (registered in Germany) is a familiar fake to members of the fightflashfraud team. It has all the hallmarks of a fake capacity USB flash drive that corrupts files:

  • Every USB flash drive of this model tested by members of our team was fake.
  • Every USB flash drive that came in packaging like this was fake.
  • Every flash drive that had a little shiny capacity sticker was fake.

For these reasons, along with auctions with low start prices – very risky for anyone selling genuine items – we conclude that guenstig-007 bought these from a fraudulent supplier.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. What is amazing is the near 97% positive feedback he got. People just don’t have a clue. Just goes to show the very limited value of ebay feedback these days.
