fake flash fraudster xoldskool continues to defraud ebay members

leave a comment »

We are certain that the 32GB flash drive sold in this ebay listing (item number 280490601696) is fake capacity and corrupts files after a while. The seller, xoldskool, is a proven fraudster selling fake capacity flash memory. Why has ebay not yet banned this seller who uses private auctions to hide the fraud?

We suspect that ebay is more interested in the money generated by fraudulent sellers than they are in protecting buyers.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

Seller deirius evades ebay fees by hiking up shipping charges

leave a comment »

We would not buy flash memory from seller deirius (registered on ebay Spain) as we think sellers who load all the costs onto the post and packing, as this seller is doing, are not trustworthy. We would not be at all surprised to hear that the USB flash drive in this listing is fake capacity and corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Seems UK ebay seller zmtrader bought fake Kingston from fraudulent supplier

leave a comment »

This is a counterfeit (and therefore fake capacity) USB flash drive purchased by zmtrader from a fraudulent supplier. A fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files. How do we know it is counterfeit? The model shown in the listing is not made in 128GB capacity!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

UPDATE 13/05/2010
Seller zmtrader is now selling these fakes as faulty! Also ebay has removed the listing for item number 330422300671 – so if you bought from that multiple-item listing then the item will have vanished from your won list. These customers who bought from the removed multiple-item ebay listing number 330422300671 were obviously not happy with their purchase:

One customer states that “Kingston don’t make a 128gb” – we suspect the customer wanted to say that they don’t make the model he or she purchased in 128GB but ran out of space. We’re not sure if it was the same model of flash drive as shown in ebay listing number 330422294453 (shown at the top) but we can say this about item 330422294453:

Kingston do sell 128GB drives and also 256GB drives – but not the model pictured here!!

We can also say that although the auction for item number 330422294453 was not due to end until the 16th of April it ended early (on the 12th, co-incidentally the day after this article was first published?) and no feedback has yet been left by the ‘buyer’ – we will leave readers to draw their own conclusions about why the word buyer is in inverted commas!

You have a very limited number of keystrokes to tell the fake story in ebay feedback!
Think carefully and USE THEM WELL – one of the ways you can help other victims of fake flash is putting the words:

FAKE!! Tested with h2testw, google: h2testw fightflashfraud

in your feedback if you bought a fake on ebay. You can also help by sending messages to two or three others who bought the same item as you!!
