128GB DT200 flash drives on ebay Australia too cheap to be genuine

The buy it now price in this ebay listing from bargain-enterprise is far too low for these to be genuine Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives. The seller obviously bought counterfeit fake capacity flash drives that will corrupt files from a fraudulent supplier.

Did you buy a Kingston flash drive on ebay from perfect-staff?

If you bought a Kingston Datatraveler USB flash drive from UK ebay seller perfect-staff you should test it immediately with the free program H2testw. We have been informed that the Kingston flash drives from this seller are counterfeit and fake capacity. Our review of the flash drives sold by perfect-staff confirms this.

This seller is yet another who bought from a fraudulent supplier (no doubt in China) – here is what a buyer who was warned by another ebay member had to say about the flash drives from this seller:

I actually order a number of these for friends and
family but unfortuanlly every single one of them were dodgy (7 in total).
I’m trying to get a refund but most of the sellers are not willing so will
probably need to take more action to get my money back.

It appears that these fakes actually only have 32mb of data but the chip
has been set to trick the operating system that their is 128gb but just
repeats the 32mb over and over again making the operating system think
it’s working fine until you attempt to read the files.

Based on this I expect that every single on of these flash drives being
sold on ebay are exactly the same.

This ebayer found exactly what we warn about – flash drives that report a fake capacity to the operating system, have a tiny real capacity and (as a result) do not really save your files after a few small ones – so whatever you thought you saved shows up as lost or corrupt!

We do not know yet if perfect-staff is simply someone who fell foul of a fraudulent supplier and did not realise that the flash drives were fake (as is often the case) or someone who was aware they were fake capacity flash drives.

If this seller is honest and made a genuine mistake then all buyers will be refunded in full and (with any luck) perfect-staff will be able to claim a refund from the fraudulent supplier through his or her credit card company.

hkwares360 looks like another ebay fake flash fraudster in Hong Kong

We think it highly unlikely that ebay item number: 230460855805 sold in this listing by hkwares360 is a genuine 8GB Sandisk flash drive. We think this seller is likely to be yet another Hong Kong fraudster selling fake flash memory items and that this USB flash drive is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files.

accseries – an ebay fake flash seller in China pretending to be in UK

leave a comment »

ebay seller accseries is not in the UK but in China and we think there is a snowball’s chance in hell that the seller actually has a warehouse in Birmingham, England. However, if there is actually a warehouse in Birmingham, we have a team member who would be eager to pay a visit to it in the company of the police!

We could almost give you a written guarentee that this USB flash drive will be fake capacity and corrupts files! We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

This 128GB Kingston flash drive listed on ebay Spain by blas6677 is certain to be counterfeit and fake capacity. A counterfeit fake capacity drive always corrupts files after a while. We suspect that this seller may know it is fake as the sale is private.
