Beware of 128GB USB flash drives sold on ebay by compnet10

leave a comment »

So the 128GB USB flash drive in the listing above has been tested with h2testw has it? In that case we can only assume that compnet10 knows it’s a fake as every single USB flash drive that we tested which came in this packaging was fake capacity which corrupts files.

Ebay seller compnet10 previously sold even more obvious fakes (see left) earlier this month. There is no such thing as a genuine Sony Vaio flash drive – they are fakes from China.

We have a visual comment about this seller’s “testing” (see right).

We urge anyone who bought a flash drive from compnet10 to test it immediately themselves.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

ebayer edgarantony lists fake flash drive bought from 09shameer

leave a comment »

UK ebay member edgarantony has listed this fake USB flash drive (or memory stick) at auction on ebay. All Sony Vaio USB flash drives are counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupt files – Sony do not use the Vaio name for flash drives! This drive was apparently bought from 09shameer (another UK ebay member) in February. None of those who bought this fake from 09shameer seemed to realise they had a fake. They probably just looked at what the operating system reported – big mistake!

We reported at the end of March that we thought there was something rather fishy about feedback for 09shameer in this post – we now wonder whether, in addition to the other matter that made us supicious before, there may be a connection between the ebay IDs edgarantony and 09shameer.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

128GB Kingston DT200 listed on ebay by lanasdalysale too cheap

leave a comment »

The buy it now price in this ebay listing by lanasdalysale is too low for these 128GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drives to be genuine. They are obviously counterfeits purchased from a fraudulent wholesaler, so these USB flash drives will be fake capacity – which corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

USB flash drive from concepcion95br? Test with h2testw immediately!

If you bought one of these flash drives from ebay seller concepcion95br you are advised to test immediately with h2testw. It looks as though these are being drop-shipped from China and it seems extremely likely that this USB flash drive is fake capacity and corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

fake 32GB Sony flash drive listed on ebay by bazar-levante

leave a comment »

Although marked with the Sony name this USB flash drive was not made by Sony but by fraudsters in China. The real capacity of this flash drive is nowhere near 32GB – it is a fake capacity USB flash drive which corrupts files once the real capacity has been filled. It looks as thought the seller bought this from magj2010, a fake flash seller in China.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

64GB Kingston DT200 flash drives from ebay seller calibre-351

leave a comment »

If the 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed on ebay Australia by calibre-351 the seller risks making quite a loss by selling them at auction. Of course there is a pretty good chance that the seller bought from one of the many fraudulent wholesale outles supplying counterfeits. If they are counterfeits from a fraudulent supplier then these USB flash drives are also fake capacity, which corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

katyskustoms selling fake 128GB USB flash drives on ebay USA

leave a comment »

Seller katyskustoms obviously bought these fake capacity USB flash drives from one of the fraudulent wholesale outlets that sell fake capacity memory that corrupts files. It seems that katyskustoms sold a few of these back in February but it looks as though none of the customers tested their drives as everyone left positive feedback.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.
