MP players from ebayer rilinvidj5 sold a little too cheaply

with 2 comments

We urge anyone who bought an MP player from ebay seller rilinvidj5 to test it with h2testw immediately. We suspect they may be fake capacity (which corrupts files) or have very low grade flash chips which are prone to failure as they have been sold a little too cheaply given the cost of good quality flash memory chips.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. Hi Steve,

It seems that ebay suspended rilinvidj5 after a lot of fake items were sold and buyers left negative feedback – mainly about fake watches. We wouldn’t be at all surprised if we find that the seller simply got a new ID and started selling again – something we’ve seen time and again.

If you still have the packaging it was sent in we’d be interested in having the seller address details – always useful in joining up the dots to link the ebay IDs of scammers from the same gang.

We know what you mean about feeling like the Prisoner – the situation drives us nuts!

  2. Yea, I bought a supposed Mp4 player from the seller rilinvidj5 listed here. Unfortunately I had to leave the UK just before it arrived. Did not return for 5 months. On arrival back in the UK opened it up to find it is effectively a toy. What a sting. It cost me best part of 50 quid. It plays one song – Barbie Girl – which was preinstalled and it does that with difficulty. It locks up at every turn and the touch screen simply does not work most of the time. It is a dud par excellence.

Obviously there is no way to get through to Ebay directly regarding this matter. It is a maze which does not allow reporting on such matters once the 45 days from purchase date has passed. I am also infuriated that ebay can construct such a massive wall of defence against such abuse: the web site is a metaphysical conundrum re customer support and the phone line simply runs you round in circles until directing you back at every turn to the web site.

I felt like the Prisoner. Surreal indeed that such behaviour can be accepted and permissable. Anyhow I hope this may add grist to the mill re this canny little Hong Kong git and the medium through which he has been effectively sticking his hand in people’s pockets.

    Steve
