The USB flash drive shown on the left is a notorious fake capacty flash drive that corrupts files. It is sold by most of the fake flash fraudsters on ebay and seldom has a real capacity above 2GB although it is frequently sold as being 32G, 64GB and (as in the case of superflash*888) even 128GB.

Do not be fooled by what your computer reports – the information displayed by your computer is simply the false information programmed into fake flash memory devices by the fraudsters who create them. Testing with H2testw will reveal the truth if you understand the results.

When errors are reported after a certain point by h2testw this gives you an indication of the true capacity of the flash chip (the amount of data you can save before things go wrong because there is nowhere left for files to go and they will start to vanish or be corrupted) – fakes seldom have as much as 4GB real capacity.

Seller superflash*888 is part of a devious fraud ring in Singapore which we have been watching for some time. Anyone who cares to investigate will find that the fraudsters in this gang leave each other positive feedback without ever buying or selling anything to assist in their fraud.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
